Deer Management
Hunting only permitted to registered members of the Westchester County Parks Adaptive Deer Management Program. 2026 program is currently full.
In response to the recommendations of the Westchester County Citizen’s Task Force on White-tailed Deer and Forest Regeneration, Westchester County will continue its longstanding deer management efforts to reduce deer impacts and support forest health and regeneration. These efforts draw on the County’s experience managing browsing pressure, as well as years of regional collaboration with local partners working toward shared management objectives.
As part of this ongoing work, Westchester County will re-open sections of the following parks for registered bow hunters for hunting deer from Oct. 1, to Dec. 31, 2026:
- Alfred B. DelBello Muscoot Farm, Somers
- Lasdon Public Gardens, Somers
- Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River
- Sal J. Prezioso Mountain Lakes Park, North Salem
- Hilltop Hanover Farm, Yorktown Heights
- John E. Hand Bald Mountain Park, Yorktown
The 2026 Westchester County Adaptive Deer Management Program is currently full and no new applications for membership will be accepted until 2027.
