This immersive exhibit features a curated collection of botanical photography paired with easy-to-follow interpretive displays that showcase the fascinating variety of plant life — from ancient ferns and vibrant flowering species to towering trees. Westchester County Veterans Museum Exhibit: Evolution: 250 Years of Military Gear, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
This exhibit explores the development of military equipment and technology across two and a half centuries of American history. Featuring authentic artifacts including boots, headgear, uniforms, camouflage, firearms, dog tags, communications equipment, medical supplies, haversacks and field rations, visitors get an in-depth look at the changing realities of military service. Join Westchester Parks staff for a look inside the lighthouse to learn about what life was like for the keepers. This is a drop-in, self-led program. Groups of eight or more must pre-register. Park at Kingsland Point Park; the lighthouse is accessed by a 10-minute walk south along the Riverwalk path. The five-story structure includes four narrow stairways. This tour examines some of the dangerous and toxic plants that can be found in your backyard and surrounding area. Parts of these plants include leaves, seeds and berries that, if ingested, can cause individuals and their pets to become violently ill. A small goat with big dreams gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball, a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world (rated PG; 2025). Are your houseplants looking a bit tired? Lasdon’s gardeners will help them. Together, we will check the soil, remove dead and damaged leaves, re-pot it in good potting soil and talk about what your plant needs. You’ll also learn some great tips about keeping your houseplant happy and healthy.
