This immersive exhibit features a curated collection of botanical photography paired with easy-to-follow interpretive displays that showcase the fascinating variety of plant life — from ancient ferns and vibrant flowering species to towering trees. Guests can discover how plants grow, adapt and thrive while surrounded by living specimens inside the conservatory’s peaceful environment. Daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 31. Free.

Westchester County Veterans Museum Exhibit: Evolution: 250 Years of Military Gear, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
This exhibit explores the development of military equipment and technology across two and a half centuries of American history. Featuring authentic artifacts including boots, headgear, uniforms, camouflage, firearms, dog tags, communications equipment, medical supplies, haversacks and field rations, visitors get an in-depth look at the changing realities of military service. Interactive touch-screen components provide an engaging educational experience for visitors of all ages. Wednesdays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Join Westchester Parks staff for a look inside the lighthouse to learn about what life was like for the keepers. This is a drop-in, self-led program. Groups of eight or more must pre-register. Park at Kingsland Point Park; the lighthouse is accessed by a 10-minute walk south along the Riverwalk path. The five-story structure includes four narrow stairways. Join expert yoga teacher Melissa Feinberg for a gentle discovery within the practice of yoga. For beginners or advanced students, we begin with a warmup and introduction, then it is onto discovering new postures, and breathing and meditation practices. Medicinal Plant and Tree Tour, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Urban naturalist Bruce Rosenberg will lead a tour to examine over 20 plants and trees that have medicinal qualities and are used to treat physical and mental conditions. All of these plants can be grown in your backyard and are available at local nurseries. Bruce will also talk about some of the active chemical constituents of those plants that help to fight infections, inflammation and a host of other ailments. Free. Also: Aug. 15; Sept. 26.

Military Bake and Craft, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Children age 6 and up will hand-sew a 1970s-era compass pouch, bake MRE-style (Meal, Ready to Eat) fudge brownie cookies, learn to use a compass they can take home and go on a special tour of the Veterans Museum. $15.

Retro Bake and Craft: The 1960s, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
