Garden Squad, 10 a.m. - noon
Spend a few hours in our garden! Work next to Lasdon’s gardeners on tasks that include watering, weeding, planting, pruning, deadheading, and transplanting and tropical plant maintenance in a 60-year-old greenhouse. Free. Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays until November. Next. April 25, 26.

Ages 3 to 6 will explore the whimsy of the world around them through combining storytelling with hands-on activities on the farm straight from the tale! Pay-what-you-want pricing. Also: April 26.

Soft Landings: Playtime for Littles at Lasdon, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Ages 18 months to 4 years can gather together to enjoy early growth in the gardens, record our stories in a journal and learn about tools. We will experiment with seeds and roots, build with sticks, stems, rocks and blocks, and exercise our imaginations. We always end with gratitude for forest friends and a cup of warm tea. Dress for the weather and bring a snack. $5. Also: April 30.

Thursday Starts with Tea: Playtime for Littles, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Ages 18 to 42 months can gather together to build with sticks and stems. We will learn about habitat and winter shelters and all the season has to offer and record our stories in a journal. We will experiment with wildflower seeds, watch for birds and tracks, and exercise our imagination. $5, including caregiver.

Pitch in For Parks, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Each April, Westchester Parks Foundation and the Westchester County Parks Department host Pitch In For Parks, the largest County-wide volunteer program surrounding Earth Day. Volunteers at Willson’s Woods Park will be helping with a variety of tasks that may include invasive species removal, flower planting and litter removal! No experience is necessary.

Lasdon Public Gardens Medicinal Plant and Tree Tour, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Urban naturalist Bruce Rosenberg will lead a walk to examine over 20 plants and trees in the Arboretum that have medicinal qualities and are used to treat physical and mental conditions. Each April, Westchester Parks Foundation and the Westchester County Parks Department host Pitch In For Parks, the largest County-wide volunteer program surrounding Earth Day. Volunteers will clean up litter, mulch playgrounds, care for sapling plantings, and ready the park for spring!
