Lasdon Public Gardens' Plant Sale Blooms Again with Thousands of Spring Must-Haves

May 6, 2026 — Spring gets a vibrant boost when Lasdon Public Gardens’ Annual Plant Sale returns for a weekend packed with color, variety and garden inspiration, Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17. Rain or shine, this beloved seasonal event invites plant lovers of all levels to browse an impressive selection and bring new life to their outdoor spaces.

From bold annuals and native trees, to organic herbs and vegetables, shoppers will discover thousands of options to suit any garden style. Flowering favorites like roses, hydrangeas, lilacs, poppies, peonies and azaleas will be in full bloom, alongside standout selections such as the ever-popular angel trumpets and plants designed to attract hummingbirds. Edible native shrubs—including blueberries, raspberries, pawpaws and juneberries—join a diverse mix of deer-resistant plants, ornamental grasses, ferns and ground covers.

County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “This event captures everything people love about spring: fresh air, great choices and the chance to connect with others who share a passion for gardening. Whether you’re starting small or planning a full refresh, you’ll find something that makes your space feel new again.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said: “Lasdon offers the perfect setting to spark ideas. Walking through the gardens while selecting plants makes it easy to picture how everything can come together at home. It’s hard to leave without something you’re excited to plant!”

New this year, guests can shop ready-to-display patio pots bursting with color, as well as mixed herb containers ideal for home cooks. Also, attendees can visit the Conservatory to see the exhibition, “A Plant Story: From Fern to Flower,” a Victorian-themed display that walks visitors through the development of plant life.

Visitors can also roll up their sleeves at a floral design workshop hosted by the 9th District of Federated Garden Clubs. Two sessions will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 1 to 1:45 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. For a $10 materials fee, participants will create a simple, elegant arrangement to take home. Expert advice will be available from Cornell Cooperative Extension, and essential gardening tools and supplies from Mill River Supply will be onsite for purchase.

The Plant Sale is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. Parking and admission are free. Guests are encouraged to bring a wagon or cart.

The Annual Plant Sale is seeking volunteers to help with a variety of tasks for the program. Volunteers who contribute at least two hours will receive $25 off their purchase at check out.
